that canada, and listen, let's not sugar-coat it. it's not that everybody in canada thinks there are no issues with immigration. but canada has developed a different view of immigrants that you argue is more welcoming. >> well, i just looked at the data. you know, people are yelling and screaming about this in arizona, and 15% of the work force or the population is immigrants. in the united states, the city with the highest percentage of immigrants is miami. it's about 35%. in toronto or vancouver, virtually half the people are immigrants or what we call in canada, new canadians. and i think, yeah, there are problems here in canada. but the problem is, should the immigrant who is driving a cab but has a degree in dentistry or law or health care, should they be able to use their skills fully and build the economy and and i'll tell you what's really interesting. over in vancouver, which has an equal percentage of immigrants and have been attracting immigran immigrants from asia, when microsoft had to build a new laboratory, it said we can't get the skilled people in the seattle area. they put it

in these states here, there are also reports of two cases in canada. an unknown number in india as well. we have the commander of disease control and prevention. we say superbug. can you describe what we're talking about in this situation? what is this? >> definitely, richard. i appreciate the opportunity to be with you here. i think it's important to put the problem that's being described currently in some of these articles into perspective. many are about something called the mdm-1. there have been only three cases of this mdm-1 reports in the united states. they were reported back in june of this year. they've been investigated. as far as we're aware there are no additional cases. what we are much more concerned about is a cousin of the mdm known as kpc, which is an organism that is present in health care facilities in the united states. it's been described in more than 30 states. it's something relatively uncommon in most places right now. but it is very resis tentd to antibiotics. it's difficult to treat. aggressive action right now can help control the spread of this organism, this kpc org

this morning. is any other place in harm's way? >> newfoundland, canada. so as this storm begins to accelerate, folks in canada are going to have to deal with it, as well. i think the big story with this storm is how big it was. and because of the actual size of this thing, they had tropical storm-force and hurricane-force winds in such a long duration just that constant battering of the island is where you're seeing most of that damage. but as john pointed out, the building codes are pretty strict. but about half the people at one point, at least, without power. all right. there you see the storm now. it's about 135 miles to the north of bermuda right now, and it is accelerating north/northeast at 20 miles an hour. it is still a hurricane with category one strength. and this is the forecast track. it'll probably scoot the coastline of newfoundland, a category one storm, and then eventually getting into extra tropical -- more like an atlantic type of storm with winds, though, that tropical storm force winds go out over 300 miles from the center. as reynolds pointed out, they'll be dealing with
